Adoption Policy

The Adoption Process

  • Details of all available cats/kittens are on our website /Facebook page. They are located in our small cattery in Glossop, or in foster homes across the area.
  • You can make an appointment to visit any that you are interested in.
  • Please provide your phone number and the names of the cats/kittens that you wish to meet. One of the fosterers/cattery volunteers will be in touch to arrange a mutually convenient time to visit.
  • Adoption Fees
    • Kitten : £80 or £140 for two.
    • Cat : £120 or £220 for two.
  • We usually carry out a home check as standard (unless you have adopted from us before).
  • A home check enables us to check that the cat you are interested in is a good match for your home, family and lifestyle. It also allows us to discuss the needs of the animal and that you understand the commitment you are taking on.
  • There is an adoption form to be completed . This is usually done during the home check.

Your Responsibilities

  • Adult cats will have been neutered, micro-chipped, flea treated and wormed.
  • Kittens which leave the mother between 9 and 10 weeks old will have been microchipped, flea treated and wormed. It will be up to the new owner to vaccinate and neuter when appropriate.
  • Ongoing costs for new owners will be yearly vaccinations, treatments for fleas and worms throughout the year and any incidental vet visits.

Adoption Guidelines

  • We pride ourselves on matching the right cats to the homes that best suit their needs.
  • We do not adopt to homes near busy roads unless they are going to be house cats.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Some cats and kittens are not suitable to be house cats.
  • We have no way of telling if a 9 week old kitten would be a suitable indoor only pet, so we do not allow kittens to be homed near busy roads.
  • We prefer to rehome kittens in pairs and will give priority to families who can offer this. We carry out home checks as standard.
  • We do allow adoptions to families with children, but assess each home and family individually to ensure a positive outcome.
